Surveillance / Security Camera Installation and maintenance Shop Requirements

You work for a Surveillance Video Cameras Installation& Maintenance Services shop, your company also repair and install security cameras (Surveillance Cameras) for business. You are tasked with developing a software solution to support the company’s Products and Services Tracking. The company is growing and in much need for an application that keep tracks of Their products and services. The main products the company offers falls into categories as follows:

  1. Surveillance / Security Cameras
  2. Digital Video Recorders (DVR)
  3. Surveillance System Accessoires (cables, electrical boxes, Ethernet cables, etc.)

The main services the product provide:

  1. Security camera installation
  2. Surviellance system maintenance

The security cameras offered are of different types (Bullet cameras, Dome, C-Mount, Infrared, PTZ / Speed Domes, Wireless, Network / IP, Micro Security) we should be able to add additional types. Each camera type should this specification:

  • IR LED: ￠8X36PCS
  • IR LED working distance: 50M
  • Water resistance: (yes, no field)
  • Lens: 4-9mm Manual Zoom Lens
  • DC12V/AC24V double voltage add USD4
  • Dimension:240(W)x186(H)x100(D)mm
  • Weight:1.4Kg

The DVR systems also come in different configuration (4 Channel DVR, 8 Channel DVR and 16 Channel DVR). We should be able to add additional configuration. Each DVR type comes with its own specification such as:

  • Compression Format (H.264, etc.),
  • Resolution 720 x 480 ( NTSC ), 704 x 576 ( PAL )
  • Playback resolution：4 x D1
  • Real time recording support: CIF:352×240 with 240 Fps (NTSC); 352×288 with 200 Fps (PAL)
  • USB port: a number default is 1
  • Weigh

The security system accessories need to be stored as well and need to have the ability to add / remove / update new accessory into the list.
Each product offered has a vendor and quantity at hand associated with it. Vendor list need to be configurable and we need to track basic vendor information (company name, content name, phone number, email, website address, etc.).
The main goal of the application inventory tracking and management. The information can be easily accessed when needed along with data entry views that enable any one in the company to enter the information. There shall be one security level.

  • The tool should maintain a small repository of project data. This does not have to be a relational database management application (you can use flat files)
  • The ability to add/update/delete all information is required.
  • Numeric key fields should be automatically generated. Such as customer ID.
  • Security is required. Only one level of security.
  • The system must respond to all requests within 10 seconds.
  • A web-based solution would be nice, but not required.
  • The use of a relational database is not required. You can use flat files for example.
  • The following reports are required:
  1. List all Security Camera types available along with quantity and vendor information
  2. List all Security DVR types available along with quantity and vendor information
  3. List all vendors.
  4. List all Accessories
